Berglund Automotive has added a new dealership to its already hefty roster in the Roanoke Valley car market.
It recently opened an Alfa Romeo dealership at 3530 Franklin Road, where its Fiat dealership is located. It’s now the Berglund Fiat Alfa Romeo dealership and carries a new selection of Alfa Romeo models.
Beginning in the 1910s, the Italian automobile brand enjoyed success for decades on the racing circuit, later becoming a global automobile manufacturer. It stopped exporting cars to the U.S. in 1995 before returning to the U.S. with a limited variety of models more than a decade later. While the brand is known for its sporty looks and sleek designs, it also has released a sport utility vehicle. Berglund has received a shipment of the SUV, the Stelvio, to sell along with sporty sedans like the Giulia Ti, according to a news release.
The new dealership is part of a multi-year remodeling project to make the Berglund dealerships more contemporary. The Berglund Ford dealership in Salem underwent a $2 million remodel last year and the Mazda dealership in Salem recently launched a makeover. Berglund Automotive has 31 franchises in 10 locations throughout southwest Virginia.
